Doctor

  • Dr. Douglas A Thieme

Douglas A. Thieme, DVM graduated from Purdue University in 1983. After spending a few years in southern Indiana, he relocated to Fort Lauderdale in 1986 where he worked as an Associate Veterinarian for Dr. E.E. (Pete) Seiler. In December of 1988, Dr. Thieme purchased the practice from Dr. Seiler upon his retirement.

Dr. Thieme enjoys general practice and surgery, including dentistry. He values the long term relationships which have developed with his clients over the years. He finds it very rewarding when clients become friends, which many do. He and his wife Erin have four children, Mitchell, Maureen, Ryan, and Kathleen, whose activities keep him very busy. There may even be a budding veterinarian or two in the group. In his spare time (what spare time with four children!), he enjoys running, playing basketball, and spending time with his four legged family members. He has two cats and four pugs. Talk about your full house!

He is a past president of the prestigious Executive Association of Fort Lauderdale, and a member of many other professional organizations. Some of these included are The American Animal Hospital Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Florida Veterinary Medical Association, and the Broward County Veterinary Medical Association.
